Claude Skills for MSPs

Claude MSP skills: a free, white-label kit for running your MSP with AI.

Fourteen Claude skills that handle the business side of a small managed IT services company: pricing and quotes, QBR prep, helpdesk triage, onboarding, offboarding, client communications, monthly metrics, and the legal document stack. Built inside a working MSP, then white-labeled so you can fill in your own rates, targets, and branding. Free, no email gate.

What this is

We run a small MSP in Parker, Colorado. Over the past year we built Claude skills to run the business itself: the quoting, the reviews, the ticket triage, the client emails, the monthly numbers. They started with our rates and our voice baked in. We stripped all of that out and turned them into the MSP Operations Kit, a white-label suite any small MSP can make its own.

The skills work as one system, not fourteen loose prompts. Every client-visible number comes from one pricing skill. Every piece of content follows one brand skill. Every legal-adjacent workflow carries an attorney escalation path. That structure is what makes AI output safe to put in front of clients.

How to install

Install everything as a plugin in Claude Code or the Claude desktop app:

/plugin marketplace add RTFM-IT-Services-LLC/msp-claude-skills /plugin install msp-ops-kit@msp-ops-kit

Or install skills individually in claude.ai: zip a skill folder and upload it under Settings, Capabilities. Then ask Claude to "set up the kit." The setup skill runs a guided, resumable interview that fills in your identity, rebuilds the pricing model with your numbers, and finishes with a readiness check before anything goes client-facing.

Free, pay what you want

There's no paywall and no email gate. If the kit saves you real time or wins you a client, you can pay what you want through GitHub Sponsors. Any amount funds continued updates. The license is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: use it freely to run your own MSP, don't resell the kit itself.

A few honest caveats. You need a Claude subscription. The contract templates are generic drafts; have your own attorney review them before use (the kit reminds you on purpose). And the default numbers are examples from our shop; the setup skill makes you replace them with yours.

Common questions about using Claude in an MSP

What are Claude skills, exactly?

Skills are instruction packages that teach Claude how to do a specific job your way. Instead of re-explaining your pricing rules or ticket priorities in every chat, the skill carries them, and Claude applies them automatically whenever the work comes up.

Can Claude really help run an MSP?

It won't replace your RMM or your techs. Where it earns its keep is the business layer: building quotes that respect your floor, prepping QBR decks from your numbers, drafting incident notices in your voice, and keeping onboarding on a checklist instead of in someone's head. That's the layer this kit covers.

Do I need Claude Code?

You need a Claude subscription. The one-command plugin install works in Claude Code and the Claude desktop app; individual skills can also be uploaded to claude.ai.

Will it push someone else's rates or branding?

No. Everything identity-shaped ships as a clearly labeled example. The guided setup interviews you and writes your rates, targets, and voice into the skills, and the kit tells you not to send anything client-facing until that's done.

Who built this?

RTFM IT Services, a small, family-run MSP in the Denver metro. The skills are the ones we use to run our own shop, proven on real clients first, then white-labeled. If you're a business in our area looking for IT help rather than an MSP owner, start at our services instead.
